Set Up! Exhibition Test Workshop is an exhibition design workshop led by Benedetta Casagrande (Ardesia Projects) and Elena Vaninetti (Twenty14), co-founders of Show&Tell. The workshop aims to create a horizontal and collaborative working process in which participants will be able to experiment and find the most suitable exhibition form for their work. Participants will be encouraged to move away from the classic idea of a photographic exhibition, exploring site-specific approaches, the use of different media and learning how to develop an exhibition plan based on a real space. The edition of 2023 has been developed in collaboration with Fonderia 20.9, Verona.

An opportunity to experiment with methods of finalising one's own project and to produce works that will remain in the hands of the participants.

The final objective of the workshop is the creation of a collective installation, which will be presented to the public in the form of a pop-up exhibition at Fonderia 20.9.

THE SPACE

Fonderia 20.9 is a non-profit organisation dedicated to contemporary photography, founded in 2015 in Verona. In addition to the exhibition programme of both emerging as well as established artists, it focuses on work of aggregation and research on the territory. Fonderia 20.9 is also a hub for exhibition design and production that has collaborated over the years with many institutional and non-institutional realities.

The gallery has hosted artists such as Carlotta Cardana, Piergiorgio Casotti, Rafal Milach, Mariela Sancari, Bianca Salvo, Achille Filipponi, Massimiliano Trezza, Cesare Ballardini, Olga Bushkova, Helene Bellenger, Sonja Thomsen and Sara Palmieri.

Fonderia 20.9 is part of the curatorial committee of the SÅM cultural project, which includes events, exhibitions and an artist residency, in collaboration with the 'Film Festival della Lessinia', dedicated to the mountainous area of Verona.

In 2022, the Fonderia 20.9 team opened Alva, a place dedicated to the hybridisation of images with different languages and arts. A space that hosts workshops, book presentations, talks, exhibitions, projections, pop-ups and a book corner. Alva is also the home of other artists and professionals with whom it shares its mission and ideas. Alva is located in Veronetta, 50 metres from the gallery.
